Our Mission
Under the patronage of G.K. Chesterton and in partnership with families and the Church, the mission of Chesterton Academy of Sacred Heart Cathedral is to foster a Culture of Life by forming a new generation of joyful leaders and saints, educated in the classical tradition and grounded in the truths of the Catholic faith.
Bring Catholic high-school education back to Gallup
Chesterton Academy of Sacred Heart Cathedral is renewing Gallup’s Catholic high school tradition. In 1912, Catholic high-school education first took root here, creating a foundation of faith and academic excellence for generations.
In Fall of 2027, we will welcome our first class of freshmen, and then add a class each year until we serve students in grades 9-12. Our young men and women will attend school together as part of the same supportive and nurturing community.
Today, through this partnership with Chesterton Academy, we are breathing fresh life into that legacy, bringing a classical, faith-centered education to a new generation.

Inspired by Saint Pope John Paul II, our motto, Cultura Vitae—the culture of life—reflects our mission to prepare students to overcome the materialism and despair of modern culture, embracing the abundant life Christ offers. Our classical curriculum provides a broad liberal arts education, grounded in the cultivation of Christian virtues and a deep appreciation for truth, goodness, and beauty.
